Hello! Today is the last lesson of Section A: Consonants! Before we start the next section, if we’re moving too fast for you, slow down and spend a couple days on this review lesson instead of just one. We will review all 33 consonants of the Khmer alphabet, and their subconsonants: ក ្ក ខ ្ខ គ ្គ ឃ ្ឃ ច ្ច ឆ ្ឆ ជ ្ជ ឈ ្ឈ ដ ្ដ ឋ ្ឋ ឌ ្ឌ ឍ ្ឍ ត ្ត ថ ្ថ ទ ្ទ ធ ្ធ ប ្ប ផ ្ផ ព ្ព ភ ្ភ ង ្ង ញ ្ញ ណ ្ណ ន ្ន ម ្ម យ ្យ រ ្រ ល ្ល វ ្វ ស ្ស ហ ្ហ ឡ ្ឡ អ ្អ. Remember that because the subconsonant for Tha (ត ្ត) is the same as Da (ដ ្ដ) and the two are impossible to tell apart, we will only ask you to type the one for Da (ដ ្ដ). Typing test rules
If you do NOT fix the errors, a penalty will be added to your final WPM score. To fix the errors, press the backspace key.
Error colors
The acceleration and deceleration lets you see where you speed up and slow down during the typing test.
Bad case is when the case is incorrect. You typed '. the' instead of '. The'.
Bad ordering is when you typed a letter too early. For example, you typed huose instead of house. The U came too early.
Doublet is when you typed a character twice. For example homee or commmunity.
Other mistakes are not categorized.
Red is if you decide to not fix a mistake. A penalty will be applied to your score.
WPM calculation
WPM means Words Per Minute. It is a measure of the output speed on a keyboard. Here's how it works:
- start a timer and start typing for exactly 1 minute
- count how many characters you just typed including spaces and punctuation
- divide that value by 5 (the WPM system considers a word is 5 keystrokes)
- the result is your Words Per Minute speed
